VPD Search for Suspect in Shooting

Valdosta-Police-Car-SideVALDOSTA, GA – The Valdosta Police Department is searching for the suspect in a shooting that took place on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night at approximately 9:50 pm, the Valdosta Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot victim on the 1300 block of W. Savannah Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and found Charles Powell, 22, of Valdosta, injured in the front passenger seat of a blue Oldsmobile. EMS arrived and transported Powell to the SGMC ER. Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department responded to investigate. Powell indicated that he was walking in the 800 block of Nardo Street when he was shot. The incident is under investigation.
