Courthouse-Soldier-webLOWNDES COUNTY, GA – Residents of District 5 in Lowndes County now have a new Commissioner representing them on the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners.

Clay Griner took his oath yesterday morning at the court house. He is filling the open seat of John Page, who ran against Ellis Black for ┬áTim Golden’s seat in the State Senate for District 8.

Griner told WCTV, “I’m going to be very conservative. I’m going to try to make decisions based off of ‘what’s best for the residents?’ And ‘what’s the best way to spend tax money?’

Griner also says he believes he will benefit the commission with his experience as a business owner in the community. Griner Auto Group owns three car dealerships in the Lowndes County area.
