Moultrie Tech and Southwest Georgia Tech set to Merge

school-notebookMOULTRIE, GA – Two south Georgia technical colleges are set to merge.

The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia has approved starting the process of merging Moultrie Technical College in Muoltrie and Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville.

According to the system, the merger of the two colleges is expected to be accomplished by July 1 , 2015. MTC Acting President Jim Glass and SWGTC President Craig Wentworth will be leading the merger by implementing a transition plan.

The state board voted on the merger during their monthly meeting in Atlanta on June 5.
