Mosher Recognized for Excellence in Healthcare Engineering

Mosher-SGMCVALDOSTA, GA – Stephen “Mo” Mosher, Assistant Administrator for Engineering and Facilities at South Georgia Medical Center, recently received the Excellence in Engineering and Innovation Award from the Georgia Society for Hospital Engineers. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions toward advancing the practice of healthcare engineering, with a focus on mentoring, innovation, professional development and leadership.

“The Georgia Society of Hospital Engineers (GSHE) is pleased to recognize Mo Mosher as the inaugural recipient of the Excellence in Engineering and Innovation Award,” says Drew Elrod, President of the Georgia Society for Hospital Engineers. “Mo’s service to the Society, profound knowledge of healthcare codes and practices, and his mentorship of fellow healthcare engineers were the inspiration for creating this award. Both GSHE and our member institutions are better places to work and safer places to provide care as a result of Mo’s contributions.”

Mosher came to SGMC in 2008 with more than 25 years of facilities and engineering experience. Before a career in healthcare engineering, he served in various roles and commands within the United States Navy.
