LCSO Arrest One Man After Undercover Operation

Dennis-HamptonVALDOSTA, GA – The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one man selling cocaine after an undercover operation.

On Wednesday night around 10:00 p.m., investigators from the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation and arranged for the delivery and sale of cocaine. Following their telephone conversations with the person, Dennis Hampton, 41, of Valdosta, arrived to deliver the cocaine and was arrested. Investigators recovered a small quantity of cocaine.

Dennis Hampton was previously arrested, by investigators from the Sheriff’s Office on April 16, 2014 near the intersection of Oak Street and Johnson Street in Valdosta. At that time Hampton was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of hydrocodone and possession of marijuana. Following that arrest, Hampton was released on a $15,000 bond.

Dennis Hampton was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and booked on the following charges; sale of cocaine, possession of the tools for the commission of a crime, use of a communications device in a drug transaction, and obstruction of an officer. He will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.
