VSU Hosts STEM Outreach Day with J.L. Newbern Students

VSU-JL-NewbernVALDOSTA, GA – Valdosta State University held STEM Outreach Day for 45 sixth, seventh and eighth graders, identified as outstanding science students, from J.L. Newbern Middle School on Friday, May 2.

During their visit, the students toured labs and learned about various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines offered at the university.

Members of several VSU student organizations served as tour guides for the middle school students. The day was coordinated by Dr. Leslie S. Jones, associate professor of biology at VSU.
