Florida Murder Suspect Caught by Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office

Daphedron-Allen LOWNDES COUNTY, GA – On Sunday morning, investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Third Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office began the investigation of the murder of Frank Carl Jones III which occurred in Jasper on Sunday, May 18 shortly after midnight.

During their investigation, investigators identified Daphedron Lamar Allen, 34, of Jasper, Florida, as a suspect and an arrest warrant for the offense of Second Degree Murder was subsequently issued. The investigators discovered that following the shooting, Daphedron Allen may have been dropped off at a motel in Lake Park. Hamilton County immediately notified the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office of the investigation and developments.

Deputies and investigators responded to the area of Timber Drive in Lake Park and shortly thereafter observed Daphedron Allen walking in the parking lot of the motel. Daphedron Allen was arrested without incident and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. Daphedron Allen will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court Monday afternoon for an arraignment hearing where his extradition back to Florida will be considered.

Both Sheriff Chris Prine and Sheriff Harrell Reid expressed that this investigation was ongoing and additional arrest may be possible.
