Pill-BottleTIFTON, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation spent over six hours at Tifton Drugs in Tifton on Thursday.

The GBI removed a substantial amount of plastic containers from the drug store. The store did stay open throughout the day as investigators removed the containers and boxes onto trucks.

Authorities began the raid at daybreak Thursday morning. They did not reveal what they were removing from the store.

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarborough confirmed with WALB that Tifton Drugs is the target of the investigation.

Tifton Drugs shares a building with the Medicine Man’s Corner, but the owner of the Medicine Man, Mark McLean, says his business is not being investigated, according to WALB.

The Sheriff also said that the Drug Enforcement Agency along with the GBI were handling the investigation.
