Governor Deal Speaks at Boys and Girls Club 70th Anniversary

Boys-and-Girls-Club-70th-AnniversaryVALDOSTA, GA – Governor Nathan Deal stopped in Valdosta on Tuesday during his visit to south Georgia.

Governor Deal was the guest speaker at the Boys and Girls of Valdosta’s 70th anniversary dinner. Deal congratulated Valdosta for supporting such an influential organization for children and teens.

Since 1944, the Club has made safe after-school care, athletic programs and after-school mentors possible for over 140,000 children. Governor Deal commended the Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta for their proactive approach to establishing relationships with the youths in their program, specifically the bus program used to transport children from school to the club to home.

Proceeds from the anniversary dinner will assist the Boys & Girls Club to continue offering programs that provide every child with the essential tools needed for a successful and bright future.
