Suspicious Activity Leads to Arrest

Kareme Kier Valdosta Police DepartmentVALDOSTA, GA РOn March 21, at around 4:48 am, two Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officers observed a suspicious person crouch down behind a vehicle while patrolling in the 300 block of E. Gordon Street.

The officers began to approach the individual, and identified themselves as police officers to the person. The person, later identified as Kareme Kier, fled on foot. A short foot pursuit occurred as the officers gave multiple commands for Kier to stop.

Kier was apprehended and continued to resist arrest.He was eventually placed in handcuffs and transported to the Lowndes County Jail. Kier was charged with Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer (2 counts), Prowling, and Possession of Tools During the Commission of a Crime.

Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department continued a further investigation based on evidence and property collected by the patrol officers and were able to obtain arrest warrants on Kier for Motor Vehicle Theft and 3 counts of Theft by Entering Auto.
