Pine Grove Student Wins First Place Award for Healthy Artwork

Pine-Grove-Middle-Healthy-Art-WinnerLOWNDES COUNTY, GA – Pine Grove Middle School seventh grader, Neveda Bird, recently received first place for Eighth District in the  Georgia School Nutrition Association Nutrition Advisory Council art contest.

Contestants submitted a piece of art representing the “Future Forward” theme of the Georgia School Nutrition Association.  Neveda’s art piece promoted healthy eating habits and the school nutrition program.  Neveda will now advance to GSNA state competition with her art work. She is the daughter of Octavia LaNeil Burton of Valdosta.

She is pictured with PGM Assistant Principal, Ivy Smith, PGM School Nutrition Manager, Cansas Bussey, PGM Art Teacher, Kelly Berry, and PGM Principal, Ken Overman.
