National Social Work Month at VSU

Mayor-social-work-monthVALDOSTA, GA – Valdosta Mayor John Gayle reads a proclamation Friday, March 7, recognizing March as National Social Work Month.

He is pictured with Dr. Mizanur Miah, professor and head of Valdosta State University’s Department of Social Work. Established in 1995, VSU’s Master of Social Work program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and focuses on multi-level, advanced generalist practice.

Students learn clinical and community practice and develop the requisite skills to practice in a host of different settings, from schools to hospitals, law enforcement to hospice.
