Valdosta State Cancels Classes and Closes University

Wes-Hall-ArchVALDOSTA, GA—Due to potentially hazardous weather conditions, the decision has been made to close Valdosta State University as of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 28) and all day Wednesday, Jan. 29. This includes all classes and administrative offices, including those classes that begin after 5:30 p.m. this evening. The university will reopen for normal operating hours Thursday, Jan. 30.

Palms Dining Center will remain open; all other food service facilities will be closed until the university reopens Thursday, Jan. 30. Campus bus service will end this evening at 8:00 p.m. and resume its normal operating schedule Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, the Student Recreation Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Odum Library and Student Union will be open noon to 6 p.m. (no food service in the Student Union).
