Baby Born in Atlanta Gridlock Due to Weather

atlanta-city-view-night ATLANTA, GA – As snow and ice made Atlanta seem like a scene from the “Walking Dead,” one baby girl couldn’t wait to see the snow.

According to the Sandy Springs Police Department, her parents were heading to the hospital, but couldn’t make it in time due to the weather and treacherous road conditions. Instead, the baby’s father and Officer Tim Sheffield helped the mother deliver the baby, inside a car on I-285. The family was near Riverside Drive when they stopped the car shortly after 5:00 p.m., according to police.

The mother and baby are fine, and paramedics were dispatched to take the family to the hospital.
