Unemployment Rate Lowest Since 2008

| December 20, 2013

unemployed ATLANTA, GA – The Georgia Department of Labor say Georgia’s unemployment rate dropped to 7.7 percent in November. The November rate is the lowest it has been since November 2008.

The unemployment rate is down a whole percentage from November of last year. State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said the rate is down due to strong job growth in Georgia and a drop in new claims for unemployment insurance benefits. Butler said the number of new jobs represents the best October-t0-November growth since 2007.
