| December 20, 2013

FBLA Lowndes VALDOSTA, GA – Members of Lowndes High School’s Future Business Leaders of America participated in the Shop With a Viking Project.

They were one of 88 teams to participate. This community service project was designed to encourage high school students to make a difference in the community during the holidays. The following FBLA members: Justice McCormick, Rod Clark, Ron Clark, their friends Marcus Thomas and Eric Watson, and adviser, Stephanie Hezekiah sponsored a second grader from Pine Grove Elementary School.

Each team donates $100 for an elementary student to spend in Wal-Mart. The student is required to spend $60 on him/herself and the remaining $40 on presents for family members. Team members and elementary students and one of their parents are bused from Lowndes High to Wal-Mart where the team works together to stay within the $100 budget and guidelines for spending.
