VALDOSTA, GA – On Wednesday, December 11, Pine Grove Middle School students were treated to a visit from illustrator Michael P. White (Library Dragon, The Legend of Old Zeb, Return of the Library Dragon, and The Amazing Flight of Darius Frobisher).

Michael’s illustrating style is unique in that his finished product is done in airbrush. About 300 students, those on track to meeting their Accelerated Reader goal, assembled in the library where Michael talked about the publishing process and his drawing technique and then he and the students collaborated on some possible story ideas and sketched out those characters. Students drew everything from Fried Green Tomatoes to Chunky Monkey. It was a great opportunity for students to see the importance of brainstorming, drawing, persistence, and believing in yourself!
