VSU Theatre & Dance Presents “Lonely, I’m Not”

| September 7, 2013

Lonely,-I'm-Not-1VALDOSTA- On Thursday, VSU Theatre and Dance kicked off the season with “Lonely, I’m Notby Paul Weitz. The play opened to a full house in the VSU Lab Theatre.

“Lonely, I’m Not” gave the audience an in depth look into the lives of Porter and Heather as they journeyed through the challenges of life.

“It’s very new, it’s very kind of contemporary,” said H. Duke Guthrie, Director. “I think it’s something that the student population of VSU could relate to.”

The set-a contrast of black and white, brought to life the sharp and witty attitude of the play.

“It has a very contemporary approach to language,” said H. Duke Guthrie, Director. “It’s R rated because of language if it were a real movie.”

According to Guthrie, it is based on the challenges that the leading characters face; it’s not what all of us are immediately recognizing to connect with.

“It is a play about hope,” said H. Duke Guthrie, Director.
