Counterfeit Cash Reported At Three Valdosta Businesses

| September 5, 2013

st-aug-counterfeitPolice in Valdosta are looking for the person or persons who continue to pass counterfeit cash. The latest incident happened when three stores in the same St. Augustine Road complex- TJ Maxx, Michaels, and Toys R Us- all reported receiving funny money.

Investigators with both the Valdosta PD and the US Secret Service believe the same people are responsible for all three purchases. They are now looking into these cases as well as others reported throughout south Georgia.

“The same person or persons, we don’t know if it was a group of people or just one person, it’s a possibility they were going from store to store using the counterfeit money they had,” said Lt. Aaron Kirk.
