Murder Suspect Caught On I-75 Near Lake City

handcuffs on white guyColumbia County, FL- Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol have arrested a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting near St. Petersburg. Police in Lealman, FL had issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for 56-year old Khonesavanh “Lucky” Kakhankham. Officials received information that he had made a purchase at a Gainesville Wal-Mart and was believed to be heading north on I-75.

Shortly before 10:30 Sunday morning, troopers stopped Kakhankham near mile marker 416, just south of Lake City. The 56-year old was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He awaits extradition back to Pinellas County.

Investigators say Kakhankham shot and killed Khamfong Vixayarath during a fight at a mobile home park  Saturday night.
