VPD: Homeless Man Behind Home Invasion

Valdosta Police Car - Valdosta TodayPolice in Valdosta have arrested a homeless man in connection with a Wednesday home invasion. The homeowner, Lavada Ham, said she was inside the home when she heard a loud bang, then saw a man removing a screen to her bedroom window.

She ran to her porch and called 911- police arrived just a couple minutes later and found 44-year old Michael Moore rummaging through her purse and jewelry. Officers said the homeless man had a crack pipe and cocaine on his person when they found him inside the house.

Moore is in the Lowndes County jail, charged with burglary and cocaine possession.
