FHP: Lake City Couple Dies In Weekend Wreck

FHPTroopervehicle editBaker County, FL- A Lake City couple is dead following a 2-car accident involving a semi truck over the weekend. The wreck occurred at the intersection of US-90 and I-10 around 1:25pm Friday.

60-year old Richard Ratliff and 58-year old Anne Ratliff were heading westbound on US-90 when their 2002 Ford Taurus was struck by a semi truck that was attempting to cross the interstate.

The Taurus spun out of control, crossed the eastbound lanes of U.S. 90, traveled into a ditch, overturned and struck a tree with its roof. The pair were pronounced dead at the scene- another passenger in the car, 3-year old Bentley Bennett, remains in serious condition at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville.

Charges against the semi driver are pending.
