FHP: Smoky Conditions Likely In Hamilton County

brush fireWhite Springs, FL- Drivers along US-41 are asked to be cautious when driving near Stephen Foster State Park on Wednesday and into Thursday morning. A controlled burn combined with westerly winds could cause smoke to drift over the roadway.

The burn is schedule to take place Wednesday afternoon, with lingering smoke likely through the evening and early morning hours.

Motorists traveling in these areas are advised to drive with care by reducing their speed, watching for advisory signs and using headlights on low beam when encountering areas of reduced visibility. The Florida Highway Patrol is monitoring the area for low visibility issues.
