| June 3, 2013

turner field 1Another strong outing from starter Paul Maholm gave the Braves a series win over the Washington Nationals Sunday at Turner Field. Maholm gave up just 2 earned runs in 6 IP, and three relievers combined to shut out the Nats the rest of the way.

Sunday’s win comes on the heels of a 10-inning victory on Saturday- Sunday also saw a major tweak in the lineup, as the struggling BJ Upton hit in the #8 spot and picked up a hit.

The Braves now have a 6.5 game lead atop the NL East as they begin a series with Pittsburgh (35-22) on Monday night in Atlanta.
