| May 2, 2013

GA state capitolRep. Jack Kingston announced on Wednesday to theĀ Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he is planning to run for the Senate seat that will be vacated by the outgoing Saxby Chambliss.

While Kingston told the AJC that he will ‘yield no ground to any of my opponents as to who is the most conservative,’ but said he is more than willing to cross over party lines ‘for the greater good.’

Former Secretary of State Karen Handel also sent out a ‘hey- remember me?’ press release in the wake of Kingston’s announcement. While Handel was non-committal in her interest in the seat, she says she has received an ‘outpouring of support’ from people asking her to run.
