Moultrie Man Survives Shooting

gun and ammoJames Slaughter of Moultrie is recovering after he was shot in the lower back outside of his home.

Police responded to a call around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at 9th Avenue Southeast and 11th Street. Slaughter told investigators that he was shot by someone while he was taking out the trash.

Slaughter’s friend, Edward French, transported him the Colquitt Regional, and he is expected to survive.
